Bloodroot Painting

Bloodroot is one of the first wildflowers in the spring woods. It's a clean white star that opens on the forest floor before the trees leaf out, and it's gone in a week or two. Its name comes from the red sap in its root, hidden under all that white. This painting is a small tribute to a flower you have to be paying attention to see.
